I can't wait till someone fixes this because I've been having so much trouble trying to do anything on Hawaii. Mega Zombie never spawns, server resets but never tells me when and loot has completely been jacked up.
Hawaii map+loot/spawns is f'd up man.

This is a game wide problem tbh; there was even an update supposedly fixing the problem. Obviously it's not fixed and we'll just have to wait for Nelson to get to the bottom of the problem and fix it. It really is rather strange. I've killed Megas on the Hawaii map before and it's almost as if they were coded to drop literally only nades because that's all I ever get from them. There is honestly no point in playing Hawaii atm unless you want to get a head start on building a huge base and collecting vehicles or something. The map will be a lot more popular when the problem is fixed for real.

I mostly play Hawaii nowadays, and I see loads of mega zombies! But like Osephyr said they only seem to drop grenades. The loot is low on hawaii due to Freezzer servers toning it down - since when Hawaii started the loot was ridiculously high! Like i mean 2/3x grizzlies in the military (after reset) so we lowered it a bit. I still get pretty good loot on there, but if its too low we can always up it a bit.
As a general, Hawaii doesn't have many large military loot spots. Its pretty much exclusively Military base, Volcano, Ailani (dead - zone) but it has a lot of smaller interesting military loot spots (Haiku Stairs - Underground water cave, Dead-zone cave, roadblock, etc).

i dont mind the nade drops it makes getting the good loot from raiding a breeze whats btch to find are detonators in hawaii
i usally have to use lmgs to raid and with the orp it a bitch unless u know a way around it

Hawaii is filled with bugs left and right. If you encounter any bugs, just post them here. Freenex is a very well respected member in the Unturned community, not just Freezzer but Unturned in general.

still not 100% sure about the mega spawns though, havent seen one yet
i have at least killed 5 seen 7 but maybe its just your luck
