Evidence: Building long wired fence on a boat and driving it trough our groups base multiple times then get it stuck in our base so we cant do anything.
Can you provide any concrete evidence other than a statement that his boat was somehow phasing through objects, thus "glitching"?
Otherwise, I believe that barbed wire that extends from a vehicle can go through walls, just not the vehicle itself.
He didn't mean the vehicle itself went through the wall. He meant the barbed wire that was attached to the vehicle.
As far as i know, using barbed wire on vehicles to kill people through walls is allowed. It is a very low and sad way of killing people but it is allowed.
The reason for this is as follows:
- It is a game mechanic that items built onto a vehicle do NOT have collision mechanics. Therefore they can pass through walls.
- To enforce this would be far too hard, its like saying you cant combat log... again, really hard to enforce.
- To remove the ability of barbed wire to affect players through items is nearly impossible to code from a dev point of view.
So unfortunately there is not much we can do. There are ways to protect yourself:
- Build tank traps/caltrops/sandbags/barricades around your base so vehicles cant get close to it.
- Build double/tripple layer of walls
- Use the ground floor only for defence but use the 1st/2nd floor for your actual base.

This is a cheap tactic, it is just misused to piss people off and needs to be patched up. I've fell victim to naked guys doing this to me so much, that I've developed a reflex to go into prone whenever I hear an APC as the barb wire can't reach you that way or just dash to its side+out of its range and he can't move the APC to the side that hard to get you.

I tested this in single player, driving a car at a base will clip it through the wall. Unturned has a clip glitch with everything (people, dropped items, random spawned items, place-able objects, etc.)
